Our Story
Barburrito was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to bring authentic, fresh Mexican food to Canadians in a fast, convenient format without compromising on quality or flavor.
Founded in 2008 by Maria and Carlos Rodriguez, who had recently moved to Toronto from Guadalajara, Mexico, Barburrito began as a small taqueria with just six tables. The couple noticed that while there were plenty of fast-food options in Canada, few offered the vibrant, fresh flavors they grew up with in Mexico.
Using family recipes passed down through generations and insisting on fresh, high-quality ingredients, their little restaurant quickly gained a following. By 2010, they had opened a second location, and the Barburrito revolution was underway.
Today, with over 45 locations across Canada, Barburrito remains true to its founding principles. We still make our guacamole fresh each morning. Our salsas are prepared from scratch using traditional methods. Our meats are marinated for 24 hours before being slow-cooked to perfection.
As we've grown, we've embraced technology to make the Barburrito experience even better. Our mobile ordering platform and responsive website allow customers to customize their meals and skip the line, while our commitment to sustainable practices helps ensure we're being responsible members of the communities we serve.
